You have to change your mindset and the way you think about health and
fitness. The mind is very powerful and people achieve extraordinary results by
changing their minds first. The principle of changing your mindset can be
applied to all aspects of life to help you achieve ultimate success!
The Power of Why?
Why do you want to change your
body? There could be many reasons for instance:
To be able to play with your children without getting tired after 5 minutes.
To be noticed by the girl/guy next door.
To not finish last at team building events that includes sports.
"Etc.
Create a mental picture of how your life could be different when you look
like you've always imagined. Every time that you feel like not exercising or
eating a whole pizza think of how your life will be different after completing
the IntoShape program!
Set Goals
What do you want to achieve by starting this lifestyle plan? You have to go and set
goals that are quantifiable and realistic. Setting goals like "I want to lose
fat" or "I want to be big and strong" is not good enough, set goals like:
"I want to reduce my body fat with 5% in six weeks" or
"I want to add 1 kg of muscle by the end of next month".
Once you have a clear defined goal you can build your exercise and nutrition
plan around it.
Set smaller goals on a weekly basis to help you keep motivated, they will be
little stepping stones towards your ultimate goal.
Stay focused You will face a lot of hurdles when
working towards your goal. There is a lot of excuses that you can use to justify
why you can't workout this week or why you can't stick to your nutrition
program. Change your thinking pattern of looking for excuses and rather look
for a solution on how to make things possible. Look for a picture in a magazine
of how you would like to look and paste it next to your bathroom mirror to see
every morning when you wake up. Imagine yourself looking like that person!
